As more and more bizarre weather patterns are cropping up in different areas throughout the country, Des Moines, Iowa, is seeing some strange weather of its own. Up until this point of the winter, Des Moines has yet to record a day where the temperature has dropped below zero degrees. The lowest recorded temperature this winter in Des Moines to date is one degree above zero. The last time the winter extended into February without a day below zero was February 6, 1914, when the temperature finally dropped to minus two degrees.
